Right... following BE's how heavy is your snake topic I brought home the digital scales from work to check Richard Parker's weight. I weighed him exactly 1 month ago and he weighed 85g. He has had 6 feeds since then and appears to be growing fast. I placed him on the scales expecting something 100g + ............................................

Alas his weight is 90g!

Is this about normal? was I expecting too much too soon (as usual with me)?

Going off this weight his food should be 9 - 13 g in weight. He's on two rat pups now every 5 days but would take more.

He's doing fine, don't worry, he'll soon pile the pounds on!

He was probably 85g, lost 20g when he went and has been putting it back on since

He had a poo the week after I weighed him so no he would not have been empty, but he has had 5 rat pups and no poo since then so is not empty now.

He was on 1 rat pup every five days. Last feed he had 2 pups because he was remaining in hunting mode. Due another two tomorrow. I'm still trying to get hold of fluffs. I have a medium mouse in freezer (weight 18g) which seems an alright size for his girth but is more than 10-15% of body weight.

maybe when you first weighed him he was not empty, or has he done a poo?

but as long as he is gaining that is good..

is he on rat pups/fluffs/weaners?
