HI guys just looking for some info as to what people think is the best substrate to use. any opinions?? I am using the coco bark stuff just now. If using this type of stuff how thick a layer do you put in?

Yep Daz, I can see the advantages, cheap, clean, easy to change and spot and nasties. Just not particularly aesthetic.

I agree...using paper does look rubbish...but i use it cos its so easy to maintain and I have to keep an eye out for mites for a little while longer...

no it doesnt...i sometimes even get them the patterned kitchen roll..

but i prefer the white because it looks nice and clean..lol..

the multis like it as well for bedding...

yep, i use it for all of them, good old Tesco kitchen roll, its as good as the posh ones, and you get 8 rolls at the moment for £1.50...bargain..lol

I use orchid bark, but he keeps moving it from under his hot hide and sleeps on the plastic base of the rub. Is this ok? The probe for thermostat is on top of the plastic too, so it isn't too hot.
