I don't know whether it is just me being paranoid but recenty my Royals underside scales feel more pronounced when I pick him up
There is no problem with the top scales but you can feel the underside when you hold him and move your hand. They are not raised by appearance just feel
I hope everything is ok but would appreciate any comments
The only thing I can think of is until Friday he was kept in an aquarium with two cover glasses and he squeeezed through the glass a couple of times and I wonder whether he has injured himself somehow |

when they're adults they do slow down, but still grow & shed. From what you've described it's nothing to worry about.  |

I hadn't handled him for 3 days and just handled him now and it felt worse but again as you say may be closer to a shed. I've had him a month now and hes yet to shed!! I want that to happen now so I know what to expect in future
do they slow down in there shedding the older they get? i understand hes about 3 yrs old |

I noticed the same on my wee one the other day and now shes started going blue.... Its probably, like everyone else says, down to shedding. |

i think it might be the way he moves, mine has also scared me a few time
with that... but then i look underneath him and its smooth.
does the scales look lifted? |

how long have you had him and have you handle much before. the raised scale feeling when he is moving on your hand may just be the movement of his belly the scales can feel a bit raised and i assume this gives them that extra bit of traction when moving especially up vertical glass. or may be coming in to shed. |

I would of thought it was down to shedding, and it will show more commonly noticed signs of shedding soon enough. |

He may have just roughed them up a bit, or he may be coming up to a shed?
I'm sure it will sort it out next time he shed's though anyway. |
