Posted - 02/08/2009 : 20:02:07 im not new to snake keeping but this is my new royal.
i bought her today, she's a hatchling and she is so adventurous. and didn't seem stressed at all after being in the car for 40 mins and then me lifting her into her new RUB. does this mean it would be okay to handle her or should i leave her for a few days to settle. and im planning on trying to feed her next sunday which gives her a week of settling |

Nothing you read or hear can ever be classed as gospel, just an example of what works for us. I have had some Royals that loved being handled and loved eating more, and some have come in that HATE being handled and HATE eating even more. You just have to gauge what your pet likes/dislikes and "bend" the rules to apply ;) |

Posted - 02/08/2009 : 22:46:21 Hi and congrats on getting a Royal! I only got mine a week ago and fed her after her being in her new RUB for about 5 or 6 hours. Id say try to feed after shes been in for a few hours, then wait a good few days before handling her.

Posted - 02/08/2009 : 20:36:48 when is she due a feed?
the car journey may have given her an appetite...and thats why she is exploring, but also she is in new surroundings so is probably exploring... |
