Hi
I got up this morning to find slash having a soak in his water bowl, 1st time I seen him do this.
Anyway, when i changed his water after he had got out, I found 2 black bits in his water, not even sure they were bugs, but they were like a black shell about 2mm in size & had shiny white/silver on the underside.
Now if these were mites of that size surely I would notice them crawling on him when I handled him last night?
I might just be being a paranoid new parent, what you think?

That's the acid test, blood (when squished) = mites

If you squeeze the black things between your nails do you get blood?

Sounds like hes got snake mites. They dont crawl they just sit their sucking blood so unless you look carefully you might not have noticed.
