Hi guys
I was told it might be a good idea to feed my royal while he is in his hide so he feels secure and is confident of eating. However I am concerned that he might ingest some of the coco husk that i have as a substrate. Would this do any damage if this did occur?
This may seem like a stupid question but just want to check.

Agree with GP.
I used aspen when i started but now use paper in the bottom of my vivs. You can buy large rolls of plain paper from B&Q for a couple of quid. It also makes cleaning the vivs a much quicker job.
So you can always feed knowing they aren`t going to eat anything but their food.

there is a real risk of ingestion so i'd change him temporarily onto paper or kitchen roll so you can feed him safely in his normal familiar environment
