Posted - 31/08/2009 : 20:04:35 hi it's Tor again, In the end I did decide to get a ball python. I've had her for a week and 2 days ago put her into a new exo terra viv. The size of it 45cm x 45cm x 60cm. She has got 4 different hides, a water bowl and spagnum moss. Sine I put her in it, she has been constantly slithering round the tank and hardly resting - is this normal behaviour when being put in a new viv, or is she showing anxiety because the tank is too big? Any advice would be great. Thanks Tor |

Posted - 01/09/2009 : 19:54:34 in reality no viv is too big, they are just too open. Provide the correct heat temps and lots and lots of hiding areas and you are sorted.
make sure there are places to hide in all temperature areas.
FYI Stig was in the same tank from 6 months old. |

Posted - 31/08/2009 : 21:12:38 It is normal for them to explore a new viv and a 45*45*60 viv isn`t too big. |

Posted - 31/08/2009 : 20:13:53 Its quite normal for them to explore a new space for a while.
I would advise covering 3 sides of the viv so that it isn't too open. |
