Posted - 05/09/2009 : 21:51:30 I have a 3ft viv for my 3ft plus Royal
I intended to get a Boa in about 12 months when I have the extra space for a bigger spare viv for it. My mate has just said I could keep a baby boa in wuth the Royal and it should be fine for 12 months or so....
Now obviously if I could I would as I;d love to get a baby boa however I;m concerned that the Royal would eat the boa and concerned that it would upset my royal and that there would be territory problems
I;m relatively new to snakes and have only had my Royal for 2 months now. I;m lovig being a snake owner and want to keep a few space permitting
Can anyone offer me some advice on this
cheers Simon |

i agree, dont put them in same viv, but why not the same room, think your being a bit over the top tbh, i keep mine in the same room, with my boa in a rub on top of my royals viv. just think of all the pet shops in the world that have loads of diiferent types of snakes/lizards/tarantulas and tortoise in the same room. |

Co-habiting with a single species is one thing, with differant species there are many more risks.
This boa and royal were housed together. The boa killed and ate the royal, then decided it was to big and regurgitated it.
I would question your mates experience.

Posted - 05/09/2009 : 22:01:42 thanks for the response , as you can probably tell I have my reservations myself but if its possible and safe for both snakes then I;d love to give it a go as I am liking the Boas as well |

Posted - 05/09/2009 : 21:56:27 wouldn't think it the best idea. not just the stress factor but there would be IBD to think about and quariteen . Also Boa's require different humidity levels. So i would say no.
