Hi guys
I was just reading through the care sheet to double check my temps were ok. It says "temperature gradient of 26-33°C (80-91°F)" Does this mean the hot end should be 91 and the cold end should be 80? Or does it mean that the hot end should be somewhere between these temps? My thermometer is in the hot end and is reading 86. Should I be turning this up a bit so it reaches nearer the 90 mark? I am going to get another thermometer so I can put it in the cold end.

and my snake spends most of her time in the cool end hanging in her tree (she is light being young, so she is enjoying hanging around at the moment)

getting the temperature right is important. Most care sheets and internet pages suggest the hot end is around 90oF.
I tend to go off this slightly, but not much. My royal python I have had for a few weeks, but I have had a royal python before and both of them have been my most successful reptiles.
I keep the temperature in the hot end between 86oF and 89oF.
my royals both feed extremely well never needing any assistance.
i guess it depends on the snake.
but i would recommend sticking to the recommended temperatures

my two spend about 99% of their time in the hot end hide. That might be why if it is a touch on the cold side.

Probably not but you never know. Tilly seems to spend 90% of the time in her cool hide anyway

Cool I will do that when I get home. Will that make them any more active?

As above, the hot end needs to be around 90f and the cool end around 80f so you need to turn the heat up a bit.

Yes your hot end needs to be 90F ish (mine goes up to about 93F) Your royal can then choose where he wants to be to regulate his body temps.
