I;ve seen people o here building their own vivs. I;m not that bad when it comes to diy and may build my 5ft for my boa which i intended to buy for £150. what sort of saving can be made by building your own? i have no idea at the cost of materials?

I guess it depends on how you want it to look. If you want a smart finish its gona cost more but if your not that bothered by its final look then odd bits of wood for pennies from say Ikea could have you a viv built for next to nothing!

my 5stack cost me about 70quid for materials plus the cost of thermostats and heating
