A few months ago we got another snake and as she went into an old bearded dragon vivarium i did not need alot of new equipment. (already had a heat mat and thermostat) i was thinking i could put some sort of light in there to be able to see the snake at night but i am not sure which one to buy .

If you are able to solder then a bag of led lights will cost a couple of £ for loads and a universal power supply to run them is about £4.
So for about £6 you could have about 50 led's running in various viv's.

now there's an idea. Any thoughts on waterproofing? Heat shrink and a little bit of aquatic silicon?

that'll be MUCH cheaper than Pets at Home lol

Or you could try cold cathode tubes like what's used for pc modding.

as above, I use red leds & they work great, as BE says I got mine from ebay.

look for aquarium light strips, added benefit of being waterproof, so if peed on there are no problems ;)

LED lights are also very cheap to run, which is a bonus.

I would go for red led's as they cant see the red spectrum and led's don't give off any heat.
