Hi All,
My female royal (18months old) was put in another viv with a male at the end of August. She now hasn't eaten for 4 weeks and is soooo restless. Is this a sign that she is pregnant even though it's not really the time of year to breed?

Any advice would be greatly received as I'm quite worried now

Thanx

Thanks. I'll let you know how we get on with feeding and anything else!

Might be worth a read, especially the 'glow before they go' bit.

We have varied the time we feed her but even that doesn't help! Their tales were locked but not sure how long for.

Have you tried feeding her late at night when she is very active?

When you say they were entwined together were their tails locked??

Maybe she enjoyed a bit of nookie and wants so more, lol

She's big and beautiful but constantly on the go! I guess she'll take the food when she's ready then but we'll keep trying

1800g at 18 months? - wow, big girl.

She's probably just noticing the change of season and is slowing down.

Hi she weighs 1.8kg and fed well up until 4 weeks ago. When in the viv with the male (14 months old) they lay together entwined and locked but as I say they were only together overnight and she was moved out the following evening as his viv was collected then. She was feeding fine up until 4 weeks ago when she stopped. Usually they both feed on a saturday, he took and she didn't and we have been trying once a week ever since.

also what age and size was the male? did she feed okay before she went into the viv with male? and how did they behave when in the viv together?

When you say she hasnt lost weight, what weight was she in the first place?
Bazza01 Posted - 11/10/2009 : 19:31:25
Thanks for the welcome and the reply. They were only together for a couple of days and then separated. She has been restless since she stopped eating. She is drinking, has not lost any weight and looks really healthy, in fact she looks very shiny so still not sure what it could be??

Why have you housed them together now?

Now is the beginning of breeding time and she is far too young really, do you know how much she weighs?

As Matty says, it could just be very stressful for her.

Shes probably very stressed out. Housing them together is not reccomended, it can lead to alot of problems. I would seperate them asap.

And welcome to the forum.
