I've just been baffled by science! After listening to my mad inventor family about the "REAL" meaning of temperature, I'm getting really confused!!! Where do you put your thermometer probe to get the best temperature readout?

Thought it was- I'm dreaming temperatures since insisting things at work are done my way (i.e. reading as much as possible and trying to do it right!). I've even been travelling 50 miles at night to check my night temps are ok!
