Sorry, I have asked questions about this before, but I'm getting a really wide range of temperatures in my hot end and I can't seem to get it stable (I'm talking a daytime variation of 6 or more degrees). My stat probe is almost under my IR bulb with thermometer probe next to it (I've twisted the wires together to keep them right next to each other)weighed down by the warm end hide so they are touching the substrate. How much temperature variation is OK?

I swapped for another thermostat. So far been very small range of temperatures. Hopefully problem solved.

Mine is the same... If I put the heating on mine can drop 3-4*C.
I have a dimming stat controling a ceramic that doesnt have any fluctuation.

That's very odd, I've never heard of a Dimming Stat doing that before, I'd be inclined to think that it wasn't working properly.

Not got a camera here at the mo. C, digital thermometer. Have got a pic of old setup on another thread, but you can't see the probes on it and it now has more "stuff" in it.

Any photos of your setup?

When you say 6 degrees, do you mean C or F? Digital thermometer?

What stat are you using? - Mine vary less than 1C, I use dimming stats.
