Hi, I bought my royal in the summer and he has just shed for the first time. Most of the skin came off a couple of days ago but his head is still completelt covered, as well as the last 3mm of his tail. Should I give him a few days to get the rest off himself or should I step in and help him out. I have found this site invaluable with help and tips so far, but this is the first time I have felt the need to post. Any advice you guys (and girls) can give would be greatly appreciated

Very good advice again Spor.

I'd also add that you could add a moist hide next time you notice your snake coming into shed.

does it look like it might come off on its own? if not try a warm bath ( temp the same as your viv warm end and about the same depth as your snake. then using a damp warm towel let your snake slither through it and see if that help. welcome to the forum
