Finally got Monty home! Gonna give him a while to settle in. But im going to the cash and carry and deck his viv out with loads of new plants!!!

Had a hold before we bought him home, and he is so friendly! He just wraped around my wrist and stayed there for ages! Took two of us to unwrap him and put him in the snake bag!

Not a great pic but best i can do for now.

ok lovley thanks for all the help! Now i know where I am! can sort his diary out now!
Blackecho Posted - 20/03/2010 : 08:17:59
The way I do it is 'roughly':

0-400g every 5 days
400-800g every 7 days
800-1200g every 10 days
1200g+ every 14 days

I wouldn't feed more regularly than those.

oh ok thanks! Ill get one of each and I will try him with the small rat first. As he is on the small side, do I need to feed hom more regualy or just once a week/2weeks? He is perky and livley enough.
Still got to get that shed off though!!
Blackecho Posted - 19/03/2010 : 22:42:41
Possibly even a small rat, 80-120g roughly
devilsmistress Posted - 19/03/2010 : 22:30:02
Yea he is, I want to switch to rats though. He has been fed on one large mouse once a week, but I gave him two and he swiped them down! so im gonna have a look at the local pet shop see what size is gonna be good for him. Im thinking rat weiner (sp)

Then he's a bit on the light side, although didn't you say it was still on mice?

The bloke I have got him off has had him 2 years so he has to be older than that, he said he bought him quite young but not hatchling

Sounds a nice weight, probably 12-18 months old.
devilsmistress Posted - 19/03/2010 : 17:32:59
Ok managed to get him weighed today so I can figure out what to go buy to feed him! He is 3 foot long and weighs 840grams, does this sound about right??
