Ok so I've had my royal for 5 days now and to be honest she hasn't done a lot other that curl up behind the plant or hide in the cave. The only times I've seen her active is about 2:00am but only for about 1 hour.

Anyways, I am planning on feeding her on Thursday at about 10:00pm. I know how to feed her, with regards to warming up the mice. But how am I going to attract her attention if she's just curled up in a ball? As I don't want to handle her till she has fed with me.

Cheers.

I have bought 4 hatchlings from a store, they are always hungry and feed first day home, congrats on the feed try to leave her undisturbed when she has taken and coiled to maximise the chance of eating, well done

You`ll know if she`s interested, if they aren`t you`ll generally find they pull there heads away. As for hiding this is what they do best, as they become more settled they will come out of they `re hides for longer periods of time.

Personally I'd feed a hatchling every 5 days and try to get 2 or 3 feeds down before handling.

Oh right thanks.

Also how long shall I wait before handling as the shop didn't really advise me on this but I've read that you have to leave them to settle?

If she's interested, the smell of the mouse (or preferably rat) will attract her.
