Hey, stupid question; how many vivariums can be stacked one on top of the other until the bottom one gives out? And can I get away with stacking a 36x18x18 on top of a 36x15x15, and a 24x15x15 on top of that?

Hi, I've just remembered another thing you could do. Get some thick slabs of polystyrene. If you have a local aquarium shop they may give you some, as the polystyrene comes as packaging for the live fish. Then stand the bottom viv on a polystyrene base as insulation. |

Ah, I see your dilemma. Buy an extra 36x18x18 to go beneath the royal's viv ... and then you can get another snake to go in it!
You know you'll be getting more snakes sooner or later if you're like the rest of us - I've only been at snake keeping a year and I've already got six!

See, that's the thing though, the smaller one is my corn's viv, and the 36x18x18 is the new one for my royal and you know how the top viv is heated more and stuff, I wanted my royal to have to toastier temperatures. >.<. Hm...I think I might need to install more vents on my corn's viv to stop it getting too warm during the summer -_-;;
Any advice for this newbie? ^^; |

A good rule of thumb is, that if they are sliding glass-door vivs, and the doors don't stick on the bottom one, you aren't overloading it. I once had a 60 lt fishtank on top of one viv - I admit the doors were a tiny bit stiff but still usable.
Yes, I would definitely put the biggest viv at the bottom of the stack. |

I have stacks of 4 and they've been fine for the past couple of years. You have to be tall to see in the top one though. |
