Hi there, lovely looking royal. yep thats all you need to do at this point. I wouldn't worry about weighing him at this stage. What was he eating before, mice or rats?

like everyone else has said, dont handle until he starts eating, if its any conselation, bow, my female baby, didn't eat for almost 6 weeks, and then finally started eating, and she only lost 5 grams

Beautiful snake

As above, yes hold off the handling until into a feeding pattern.

If he doesn't feed and you haven't weighed for a couple of weeks, weigh then and then leave alone until the next feed attempt.

Yeah - and all my corns too - Cy is an 's' sound - poor old Buffy's the odd one out!

Don't know how it happened with the pythons - Shahi is the Urdu for 'royal' and the others just happened to be names I was fond of - Saada is Arabic for 'happiness' and Surahi is named after one of those Asian water pitchers with the round belly and slender neck.

Must be their ssssinuoussss sssnakey ssslitherinessss ....

Hi, Stotty, he's lovely - yes, as GMac says, they take their time settling in, as you probably know yourself from working in the rep shop - gorgeous royal - he won't be your last! (I've just got my third ...)

All the best with the feeding.

ok i will take that advice into use :) should i only take him out to weigh him?
GMac Posted - 08/12/2010 : 19:36:17
nice royal Stotty01,
Just a wee bit of advice don't handle your royal until it has had a few feeds, they don't always settle just as quickly as corns, and 4 or 5 weeks is still not worrying time, they are hardy wee creatures.
