Hey guys,
Was gonna wait another few days before I fed Sunshine for the first time, but the guy I got him off of said I could probably try as he is due one and a good wee eater.
Had a rat weaner defrosted for him, and also gave it a wee blast with the hairdryer.
Got the little one out and popped him in a RUB, then put the rat in. He kinda sniffed a bit, then he struck. And OMG did I pants myself or did I pants myself!?!?!
Couldn't believe the lightning fast reaction. He must have liked the ratty cos he cuddled it for quite a bit after that 
I left him alone for a wee bit ( checked on him, once or twice) then when I came back in about 15 mins later, he had a nice wee round belly.
Gave him another 15 mins in the RUB then popped him back in his viv.
Don't think the little chubber will be doing much climbing tonight!!!
Gonna try and get pics of the viv up soon for your comments and suggestions for improvement  |

It was a Bosc that I was originally gonna get, then I seen some pics and vids of Teggies, and that was that really. |

i love large bodied lizards, so basically tegu's and monitors lol, have always wanted either a bosc monitor or a bw tegu |

Thanks guys, was worried about the whole settling in thing, in case he took a wee huff and went on hunger strike!
So so glad he's munching now. Hope he stays like that!!
Danny, I've got tonnes of pics, but I'll put a wee album on photo bucket, hopefully soon and I'll give you a wee shout. Tegs are just awesome, and Solomon is just such a puppy!! |

Congrats - that's great!
LOL yes, they always cuddle their grub for a while, just to make sure it's really 'dead'.
So glad he's started eating straight away for you - that first time is always nerve-wracking. Bet you're celebrating now. |
