As I keep saying, it's the crafty plan of the python god to provide us with corns (who are lovely in their own right) and who will recycle anything refused by the royals. Boas are said to be handy in this respect too.
I'm just waiting for my corn to grow big enough to be the waste disposal unit. Though it may be a good excuse to get the Boa I want to get too. |

its up to you really as bats said each snake is different. you could offer food and if he doesn't take it you know not to next time |

Posted - 07/02/2011 : 18:34:08 They're all different, I've found. Shahi will not eat, definitely, when going into shed. The only time so far that Saada shed with me, I had her rat all ready and found her going all dusty and pre-blue, but tried her anyway, and she took it. Surahi hasn't shed with me yet. The corns are the same. Some will take even in deep blue, others won't ... but the same snakes vary from shed to shed ...typical! If I know a snake is shedding, I'll delay feeding - it's not going to starve to death because of a couple of days' delay, but if it fancies eating, it'll eat! I don't think there's any hard and fast rule. |

Posted - 07/02/2011 : 18:09:43 i sometimes offer sully food when he is in shed, he sometimes takes and sometimes leaves it. i just leave it in over night as he sometimes wont eat till the dead of night and if its still there in the morn i remove it.
if he doesn't eat it then i wont offer food untill after shed and i have never had any probs doing it this way |
