Posted - 07/03/2011 : 13:01:17 Louise is spot on - I've no experience of RI (respiratory infection) either but I'm afraid it sounds very much like it. I'd recommend finding a good reptile vet near you (there is a sticky in the health section and plenty of people on here will recommend vets too.)
Best to get the little guy checked out, even if there is nothing wrong it will put your mind at rest, and if it is an RI it will be easier to treat now than later.
All the best. |

Posted - 07/03/2011 : 13:00:01 Just a thought, but could the squeaking be due to retained shed on the nose??? if not it could be an R.I which could make little snaky grumpy too (never had to deal with this but my neighbours royal had an r.i and it did make him grumpy). if not retained shed, best get checked by the vet. |

Sankes can get RI's. Not sure what to advise as I have never dealt with one but I'm sure that is a symptom. Someone else will be more help. |

Posted - 07/03/2011 : 10:58:08 Handling handling handling, only way to get them used to you. Valhalla had a fifty fifty chance of biting me everytime i picked her up, now she's not done it for months, as long as you try at least once a week shell get used to you.
Besides once she bites your boyfriend he'll be fine, bark is worse than the bite hehe. I was terrified before i got tagged to the point where i'd wait for her head to be under her hide before picking her up, now after bit a few times im okay with it
EDIT: Sorry posted as you were posting and overlapped, if he has an illness then handling is not what I would recommend lol |
