So annoyed with myself. I am so careful to wash my hands, dry them then anti bacterial gel. I did this and ws handling Duke and I notice a gloop of hand gel on his head just behind his mouth. I can assure you he is not the easiest of snakes to hold still while wiping it off and then rinsing the area. Such a stupid mistake, it was a bit of the gel on the bottom of my hand. For a shy snake he did really well me wiping his head but its later and he seems much more confident after 8pm.

I think I've rinsed it off as good as I possibly could.

SAD FACE ON TONIGHT. Poor Duke.

LOL he probably thought it was aftershave ...

Presumably the stuff is non-toxic? If so, no problem surely?

Good idea that is, or a digital photo frame, at least then I could fake movement.

Aw, know what you mean by inactive! Florence never comes out untill i get her out. Hubby thinks we need to stick a photo of her on the glass to remind us of whats in there!

Yeah he is fine, I just was annoyed that something as simple as not rubbing in gel well enough caused so much fuss. Duke didn't really seem to give a monkeys, well unless he dissolved last night, I'll not know though he is so inactive lol.

Aw, dont worry, Duke is probably more resilient than you think. We are all loving parents to our snakes so maybe we over protect a little. Sometimes a little gel on the head puts life into perspective!.....like a custad pie on the face!

Last night i fed Flo and just when she finished her rat i made her jump....felt so guilty! paranoid in case she regurged it but then thought...if this was the wild, she would be jumping every 10mins as passing beasties went on their way. I still appologised profusely though!!!

Aww - I reckon you're far more upset than Duke would have been. Even if the stuff had stayed on him, it's safe, isn't it? He might have wiped his head on the side of his viv if he'd noticed it, or else just let it melt off like water. He's used to being handled and the quick wash and wipe won't have stressed him out, especially as he's in 'after 8' mode.

He'll have forgotten it already.
