Congrats ID - sorry, missed this thread first time round.
Hi Emma - you just let the skin dry - no further preservation needed, apparently. I have a long thin pictureframe in which I meant to put a few skins - although one of my corns presented me with a 5' shed yesterday - a bit TOO long!
Some people laminate the skins - a good idea I think. I've never heard of this happening to anyone else, but I cherished a bunch of skins, hung up in the living room, for ages - until they began to smell really bad ... don't know why this happened, very sad as I loved those skins ...
Thank you for the reply and sorry to hear about the smelly skins. My dad works at a school so he should be able to laminate things there for free |

Posted - 24/05/2011 : 21:56:44 Hi, Glad to hear it. I was once told that if you monitor your royal when it is due to shed, you will notice that it's eyes go cloudy for a few days. once the eyes clear I was told to give them a quick bath. I have done this to mine every time just by popping him into a small bowl. They generally shed within 24hrs! Can't remember where I got that from but it works for me! Good luck |
