Posted - 05/09/2011 : 20:07:26 Anyone else got a Duracell bunny instead of a snake right now? Florence has become so active in the last 2 weeks, its like she has been replaced with a different python!
She is normally so reserved but now she is up to the glass and if i open the viv door she comes out to my hand and up my arm in seconds! She is about to come into shed but its still not normal behaviour. Boris (boa) is the opposite, about to shed and not moving a bloody inch unless to feed which he will do in the deepest blue days!
Odd flippin creatures....even when you think you know your snake they do something strange to test your herpiness!!!!! |

Posted - 07/09/2011 : 11:51:25 Sounds like classic horney snake behaviour to me Nothing to worry about, she'll eat when the hormones subside. |

Posted - 07/09/2011 : 10:30:29 Well - it's quite possible that she's feeling amorous, imo. She's behaving exactly like Saffron, my eldest corn, who was a total pain for ages (don't want to alarm you lol. She was still lovely with it, but so lovelorn, bless her.) And the breeding season can start any time now, apparently. In the link below Blackecho says that he started pairing in Sept of last year, so could well be that Flo wants to go go go???

Posted - 07/09/2011 : 08:53:20 I'm wondering if she is looking for a mate? she wont lay still for a moment, constant roaming and even wrapping herself around the bulb guard. She is normaly very shy, only coming out at night.
She refused her rat the other day which is unusual as she has been eating like a gannet too untill now.
This is such a dramatic change in her behaviour, im starting to worry. |

Posted - 06/09/2011 : 15:38:46 Yeah, that's true, mine are gannets, and doing a bit of roaming but not so much as Flo the duracell bunny lol! Surahi's now breeding weight with the aid of the rat diet - although I changed my mind about breeding I'm very pleased! |
