My 7 month old royal is in a RUB which is 9 liters and he has got to be a least 2ft long maybe a little longer, the RUB is about 15" X 9" in length and width which sits in a 3ft viv.
The question im trying to ask is that he comes out every night apart from after a meal, would you think the tank could be a little small for him now and that i should but him in viv but board half of it off?

No problem, Lee, just glad to be of help.
Not all royals grow at the same rate - I have a little cf09 girl who I bought a year ago, and she weighs 735g. Females are supposed to grow larger, too. So they vary a great deal. Always a thrill when they grow as fast as Shahi though, and he was my first royal; you could say he was my training wheels lol. |

BurnedAtTheStake crumbs it don't take long b4 they get to that size then.
Pillow case then boomslang ?
I think i will remember that 1 as well lol.
I was wondering what the number was for after the cf11 now i know ie year of birth .
Can i say since i have had my python between BurnedAtTheStake and boomslang you 2 have been a very big help to me, thanks for your time and comments |

Hi, Lee, Shahi's a cf10, so he'd have hatched in Apr/May '10 (pauses for maths ...) so he's 18 months old now - I'd call him a young adult, certainly old enough and heavy enough to breed, only he's not going to, poor lad.

Royals are easy to weigh, as they're natural curler-uppers ...if the scales have a zero-ing facility, put a suitable bowl on scales, zero it, and then put snake in bowl - if snake argues, gently shoo it back into bowl ...et voila!
Then tell the snake how clever it's been!
I had a little corn, who was a poor eater, in a rub in a viv ...once she was eating ok I just left the top off the rub and let her climb in and out at will. I had artificial plants dangling into rub to help her to climb in and out, plus hides in cool and hot end of viv and rub too, and water bowls in viv and rub ...she climbed in and out of the rub for a while ...when she took up residence in viv, and was still eating well, I removed rub and left her in viv. |

I just asked for weight to get a rough idea on his size really
To weight a snake get some digital scales place a rub / plastic bowl on them and weigh ;)

D3lboys-Morphs, his weight to be honest no idea as i got no scales yet, is this very important? yes maybe i should just buy an 18 ltr rub, just out of interest how do you weigh a snake? as i will get scales as well |

What's his weight
If he likes being in a 9l rub and you move him into a say 18l rub
He may stop eating but very unlikely
If you think its to small it wouldn't hurt getting a 18l rub and try it out
What ever you decide
Good luck I'm sure you don't need it though |

so hes in a 9L rub,then the rub is in a 3ft viv?Theres nothing else in the viv to right?
sure someone will tell you soon if 9L is to small or fine. |
