I have two questions this morning...

1 does my snake like to be stroked? i like to stroke him and he does seem to rub against/tense against my hand....as long as im slow, it seems all good

2 my snake looks like it has cataracts, his eyes are a little blue and misty but I don't believe that he is shedding, hes still a very shiny snake, unless hes gonna go super shiny...but maybe he just has blue eyes.

I dont know, im not an expert...thats why I am asking you :)

Yes as for being stroked,if its a nervous snake, then it will tolerate it less etc.

As for the cataracts,How long have they been there?could be coming into shed,or there retained eye caps.

Hey carlycorn, 1 every royal snake have its own character, yours maybe like Blitz like to be stroked but not on the head
2 when they are small/young (royals) they shed often because they growing up, so maybe he will shed sooner than u think.

Hi
I'd say he is going into 'blue' (getting ready to shed) When Oscar had his first shed his eyes were a blue milky colour but there was no change to his skin, that comes later. I just left him alone for a few days until he'd shed completely, mainly because when he's in blue he is really nervous and does'nt like being handled.

I only got him last weekend and he always seems grumpy till I get him out...how often do royals shed if you don't mind me asking...mines just a baby, over a month and i think hes shed before i got him.

I haven't fed him yet, I was waiting till the weekend and hed settled a bit, also my kids are away which gives us peace and quiet to eat our first meal!

Not sure they actually like anything, They dont have feelings as such and are driven by instinct and familiarity. It doesnt stop me stroking mine tho so carry on :)

Sounds like your snake is going "blue", in other words, starting a shed cycle. You may find he is a bit more grumpy right now and may even skip a meal or two.
