I keep a box of moss in the viv all time as suggested by my reptile lady and just recently damien seems to be spending lot of his time in there or out exploring!!! I have seen him in the hot end too so not overly fussed, does anyone elses royal do this?? I took him out had good look over him and he seems fine he is not blue or due a shed so maybe he just likes the damp box :-) ....... |

I have to admit, that I kept damp paper towels in his cool hide all the time and he spent a lot of time in there. I have taken them out now though and just do it when he's blue, but he still likes his cool hide almost as much as his warm hide. |

yeah,plus it drys out super fast,if you have problems with shedding just mist the viv when in blue.

Its more likely to cause scale rot or RI's in the vivarium than out of it. The normal humidity in a house is fine for Royals and only needs upping a little bit as a way to avoid rubbish shedding incidents. Its probably just going in there as its a confined space, chuck a few hands full of substrate in the normal hides to shrink the space inside. |

Personally i would remove it, royals only need humidity to about 60% by having the damp hide and the only ventilation being the entrance really you could get above that quite easily, this has its own health issues for prolonged exposure to high humidity. |

is something i dont do as royals dont generally need the raise of humidity, what i do do is add a moss hide when the royals are blue. |
