Well I have never seen Izzy shed both times his been milky then next day two packages 1 his outer case and the other of a fluffy disposition so this is good information for me sorry for your stress but may stop me panicking.
Ps if you want to see crabby get near an iguana when his shedding and remember to count your finger and thumbs after

Bless him - if he gets into difficulties just wet a pillowcase - water scarcely lukewarm, put him in and tie the top, and put him and pillowcase into a ventilated rub in a warm room for 20 mins, supervised. The dampness and the friction from his squirming about will ease off a lot of skin; if not, give him another go.

I've found this really works - in only one case did I have to bath a snake.

thanks i'm going to give this a go now because I've left him to his own accord and still nothing but little bits here and there falling off. I'm not even sure if his shed on his head, I know he has shed under his neck as thats clear white lool. I'm getting a tad stressed now and sorry OP for kidnapping your post

When you say a heat mat statted and an IR bulb, is the bulb guarded and statted too?

Shedding is nerve wrecking the first time around for you but the snake knows exactly what to do, you increase the humidity a bit and just leave them to it. They can be very grumpy during this time, its just they are a bit stressed out and they go almost completely blind so they are nervous too. Couple of days before anything happens now though, they go blue for a few days then they clear for a few days then they should shuffle out of their skin and leave you a massive brown present too, though that can happen a few days before or after they shed but it is usual they drop one for you.

Its a fascinating process they go through, as above sit back, relax and watch this amazing process.

(even a REALLY bad shed can be put right).

i would say dont panic , let him get on with it and then just see how he goes , he should do it fine , but as bats said the poiilow case or even a wet towel can help should things not go to plan . but for now leave him to sulk away and feel sorry for himself as they all do , and get ready for a shiny new snakey :)

Only need to worry after he's actually started shedding and it's gone wrong.. which it probably won't.

What Mr Bond said, but would also add a moss hide to help with the shedding and humidity.
