So its been a good 2 weeks since Kaiser has eaten. He's only 170 odd grams so i wouldn't have thought he would be fasting this young. Tried everything to get him to eat. So i think I'm going to have to put him back in his old rub. Tia on the other hand! Good as gold! Chowing down small weaners already! And hasn't missed a meal!

really don't worry. 2 months is nothing to ANY royal, never mind 2 weeks, trust me. I know it feels alien to allow it but they can and will go longer periods

I'm with Bigdon - 2 weeks not eating isn't unusual for a royal - but you do worry when they're small. At least he's had some food inside him since he came to you. Did he stop eating when you moved him? That can sometimes knock them off feeding - as you say, typical royals. I'd personally persevere for the next feed or two, to avoid having to make another change in his life, but if he persists in fasting, yes, I'd try putting him back in the old rub to see if that makes him feel more secure. All the best with him.

I've had him just over a month. Yeah he's past the settling in period. He ate fine for the first 3 feeds. 4th he refused so i left it in the viv and he took it. 5th he refused again and didn't eat it overnight. And the same this time. Yeah temps are okay. 31.5 hot end and 23 cool end.

Il ask what everyone else will lol, are his temps ok? is he due to shed?

how long have you had him is he past the settling in period? (some snakes take longer than others)

i wouldnt think it such a big deal at 170 grams assuming hes young but i think all you can do is offer the rat/mouse each week, and unless his weight drops significantly or there are other symptoms then it should be fine

but im sure someone more experienced will come by soon

good luck
