just wondered if anyone else is having bad shed at the moment ? I have found that 2 of mine that have shed have had trouble with the head area , normally they are fine , nothing has changed with the set up , i upped humidity as usual . wondered if it could be that the heating is on more now as its cold and its drying the air out quicker ?

Me to female pastel and spider

I did notice the other day the pastel had a bit of whistle to her and she's retained her eye caps and I couldn't find the head She wasn't whistling last night
Tryed the pillow trick but didn't work so I'm guessing the whistle is the shed and I'm keeping an eye on her

Will have to come of next time

Yes! Shahi and Shiva both, although my corns have been fine. I haven't even had the heating on either, apart from one evening recently. I might have to order a bit of kit for the new viv; might order some shed-ease at the same time, just to have in.

Sorry to hear of everyone else's problems, though relieved it's not just me. Weird though ...

yup, had a nightmare with my bumblebee last shed. 100% retained. spent about an hour and a half peeling and bathing the poor thing. the heating does dry the place out apparently so might be the problem.

I've never been very good at helping with shed, it's not my strong point. I generally just offer baths and higher humidity but I can never get the technique of actually physically helping them down... Well best of luck to you anyway :D

yup i have been soaking lex in a pillow case and shes been as good as gold letting us help her out and towel rub her , its just the head now , so will do it all over again tomorro and try to get the eye caps . so glad shes so chilled , unlike little rudi who tagged me tonite as i was trying to get a snake measurer pic and she took a pop , bein a diddy thing it didnt hurt , but i dread to think about how she will be if we have to help her shed!
