Posted - 16/12/2011 : 20:06:36 im starting to get my life together for a first attempt at breeding next season and have seen plenty of racks put together d.i.y style. i think it looks like a great way of handling a sudden influx of new snakes, and this will be the begining of a much larger collection for myself as i plan to keep a few of the hatchies for future breeding. i know younger royals are ok on heat mats so they wont be a problem in the racks, but as my collection grows id like to rack the adults aswell. iv seen adults in racks on snakebytes etc, but always wondered about thermal blocking? do you place the heat strips differently for adults? its not an urgent issue, i just want to get cracking and spread the work out so i can have it all set up ready and iron out any kinks! sorry about the essay! |

Posted - 16/12/2011 : 20:22:04 heat strips are under the rubs not in the rub so there is no risk of thermal blocking. thermal blocking only occurs where the snake can lie directly on the mat. |
