despite being terrestrial we all know that royals love to climb, but from time to time he also falls off his vine (with a thud)

can it do any damage? its only about a foot drop

and do your snakes do the same?

Lol bob. But like bats said, it's unlikely to be a burglar with creatures you keep:-D who needs sophisticated alarms lol

Being burgled Bob? You? With Alfie the ferocious hound and a zillion killer cockroaches on the premises???

I've thought I was been burgled one night with all these loud thuds about a minute apart, I went to investigate and saw Duke wrapped round his light guard I went to look out the window to see if it was outside and thud Duke was on the floor, noise located.

Phew!
This is my first night owning a Royal, and i was beginning to get a little concerned by his clumsiness.
He makes a much louder thud than Shorty ever did lol
Lotabob Posted - 19/12/2011 : 22:10:54
They can bruise themselves and this can cause early sheds but a foot shouldn't cause any serious injury though I don't have anything raised for Duke to climb on because he is just likely to fall.

LOL - blubber I reckon - it's what they live on during the big fast/mating season.

LOL bats, yeah it doesn't seem to bother him any and if im not mistaken, dont they have a layer of fat between the bones and skin

They're daft lol!

I don't think a foot drop will hurt, especially if it's on to soft substrate. When my lot are in the mood they galumph and thud about like elephants ...royals really are thick. (In every sense lol.) Sweet, but thick ...

Mine does! I figured if it was a problem he wouldn't keep doing it!
