Posted - 20/12/2011 : 15:12:05 Well i got my little royal on sunday and today was feeding day for my 2 corns, thought i would just try her and see if she would be interested and my god she was, so she has been here 2 days and had her first feed with me, one large mouse.
i was a little worried because she refused her last feed at the shop on the 14th and doing some reading on them i know some people have problems with them not eating. so i am very happy. however i dont think my corn will be as she now has no dinner lol best go defrost another for her now |

Posted - 20/12/2011 : 15:39:28 Congrats! That's great that she fed first time for you - they can sometimes miss a feed with a change of home, or for no apparent reason - all snakes can be like this, but all adult royals fast, sometimes for months, in the mating season. I like to think of it as a sort of hibernation; they live on their fat, but it does make a lot of people think they have problems or are fussy - thought so myself when I got my first royal 18 months ago. But when they eat, oh boy do they eat!
Lol - I'll be doing the same as you tomorrow, offering food to two of my fasting adults, and if not taken, it'll end up in a corn or gopher - colubrids do come in handy ... |
