Posted - 05/01/2012 : 23:52:20 Its for slinky, he's in a basic faun atm. I threw out his coconut hides as they are impossible to clear of mite eggs, I replaced with Fea's small Exo caves, trouble is he can't fit into it..his head usually remains outside.
He isn't at all timid, so was wondering whether he'd be ok in a 24" viv?
I am not happy with fauns and really don't want to move him into a rub, he's in Katana's bedroom and she loves to peek to see what he's up to. Watched him drinking a few times now. We'd be able to provide a climbing branch and foliage etc. |

Posted - 06/01/2012 : 07:42:32 Hmm this has got me thinking now, I was planning to get charlie a 2 foot viv as he is a very outgoing chap and forever going round his faun. Perhaps I should go for a 3 foot with lots of decore. Can always put a divider in if its too much for him. He is 7 months old and about 60cms long. |

Posted - 06/01/2012 : 02:07:47 george is about 8/9 months old now and he has been happy in a 3ft viv for about 3 months now, like bats says with plenty of decoration and stuff he will be ok
and when you have larger caves and a larger water bowl in the viv doesnt seem as big as what it acctually is

So your lad is happier in a larger home..ok that's what we'll do too:) |

Posted - 06/01/2012 : 00:42:41 *grins* Bats that is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Kit has plenty of xmas money left to buy the viv and the equipment needed.
He did afterall eat after having an android phone dropped on his head LOL |

Posted - 06/01/2012 : 00:34:14 Depends on the snake and Slinky's such a big placid lad, personally I'd chance a 3' with loads of hides and cover - if it doesn't suit him, he'll grow into it eventually - but just my personal opinion of course. |

Posted - 06/01/2012 : 00:09:31 Cheers Don,
Yeah I think I will, he is cramped atm and there's no room to place larger hides, and like you said if he goes off feed than i'll still have the faun. I'd be pushing my luck to jump straight to a 36" right? |

Posted - 06/01/2012 : 00:02:58 when i was figuring out the best size fauns/vivs, i personally went by my georges length
he (like yours) isnt easily stressed, so when he hit about 2 1/2 feet he was in his 3ft viv and happy,
you can try him in a viv and if he stops eating then you know to switch back to smaller rubs |
