Hi day time temps are fine,31-33.5 hot spot. But late at night/early hours morn, when the house tempature drops,i am getting higher hot spot temps of up to 36c my kamodo digi temp got a max and min reading letting me know the temps. I think the colder nights are making the ceramic work harder. Is this ok or should i put a heat mat on back wall of viv to help keep temp,Or should i move the pulse prob closer to the ceramic,as at the moment its half way down the viv on back wall.

hi i move the stat prob today, its now lays next to his hid under the hot spot,i have cable tied the digi temp prob to it,Hot end is now 32.5c cold end 23.7c is that to cold.Hopefully that should solve the high night time temps, will have to wait and see.

I'm no expert on this but if you set the therm probe close to the hot spot, where your snake lays and a thermometer to keep check.
A second thermometer at the cool end it should even out depending on your room temp.

lol alright now we are even.. aja beat me ;P

I think the thermostat sensor and thermometer probe are supposed to be in the same place so if you put them together and set the temperature to 33c (using the thermometer reading arther than the stat dial) that should do the job then shouldn't it?

hi yeh i am useing pulse stat,i think the problem is my prob is on back wall half way down viv(3ft).but i put it there to get the right hot spot during the day,if i put the prob right on the hot spot,i cant get the right temp gradeant.31-33 hot 23-25cold end.

Doesn't a thermostat just adjust itself accordingly to keep it at the set temperature?
JanieW Posted - 12/01/2012 : 19:15:55
Jimmer are you using a thermostat?
That should control the temperature and keep it constant :)

Your right it's the colder nights that's making it go higher

It's best to try diffrent things to try and solve the problem
If you can get your probe in the line of sight of the ceramic bulb
And the nearer the better to the bulb ;)
