Hi guys, I've posted about temps before but just need clarification please,
I have a 4ft viv with IR lamp, at the cooler end my temp is good at 26* but my question is: should I take my warm end reading at 33* from the "hot spot" from the lamp or as a temp just up that end? I have a XL exo terra hide directly under the lamp but obviously the temp won't reach 33* inside the hide, it's at about 29.5*.is this ok? If I up temps to 33* at warm end, it'll be nearer 37*-38* directly under hotspot, please help!!

My temps are measured directly under my heat lamp
I also have an exo terra xl hide, I have a viv just under 4ft the cool end
varies from 24 to 26 depending how hot my
room is. Every now again I take a reading from
the middle of viv just to see what the air temp
is normally around 30ish, I really dont think 33 is something
to worry about.

i take my temps from directly under the bulb at floor level with the hide slightly off set from the bulb

I have my thermometer actually inside my hot hide which stays at about 30 degrees as this is where mine spend most of their time, since in the wild they spend their time in rodent burrows which as you may or may not know would be a constant temp since it's underground, and if they are cold they will come out and bask directly under the bulb, or if to hot they will go over to the cool side which IMO could maybe slightly lower 22-24 degrees maybe......
