Posted - 02/02/2012 : 17:43:43 *smiles* That's great to hear Rep, there isn't many things to match it :) Although Slinky isn't the least bit shy..pick him up and never balls up, rather he stretches out as you lift him lol does make it awkward in a small faun.
As for Fea, he likes a rub under his chin, I do warn Katana, but does she listen? Nope of course not, all she says is "Fea won't bite." |

Posted - 02/02/2012 : 17:22:32 I'd be jealous lol but Ariadne did the same with me a couple of weeks ago and as you say it was amazing mostly cause they are naturally shy animals and she trusted me enough to do it with me so close |

Posted - 02/02/2012 : 11:39:20 Thanks Carly, Lorraine,
I think I can honestly say that after years of competitive horseriding, animals all my life including hand rearing lambs, kittens, calves even piglets. Nothing has ever made me feel such humilty as little Slinky did last night.
I hadn't intended to hold him, just needed to clean his faun, but when he started wriggling and stretching I held him until he shed..he made it so obvious that he wanted my help. Not sure how he did it lol but he felt as if he arched his back like a dog does when they stretch.
Got a lovely warm feeling thinking about it :)
I wouldn't get another snakes now as I want to devote all my spare time to these two. |

Posted - 01/02/2012 : 20:17:20 *smiles*It was a moment that i'll never forget..When he reached the end, he'd turn around and head back. Its all off now and I do feel honoured that he trusted me to help him. He wriggled, contracted his muscles along his body and all the while I could hear his skin crackling and falling onto my lap in pieces.
Next time hopefully he'll be in a viv where I can better control humidity :) |
