can you connect a ceramic bulb and heat mat to the same climate stat? i have a microclimate b2 proportional temperature control and it supports up to 600w?
problem i have is the viv does'nt seem to maintain the temperature at night. day 31/88 hot 24/75 cold and at night by about 2am 27.7/81.9 and 20.1/70.7
Its a 24"x18"and about 20"hig viv. wood with glass front. has 2 x 3" vents high and low. the heat mat is only a 7kw?
is this due to heat loss?, there is a 25w sun glo bulb that goes on for 12hrs and it seems to help maintain the temperature when its on?

a 60w or 100w ceramic will be fine to heat that size viv, leave it on 24/7.
the sun glo bulbs give off light if i remember right so you want a ceramic or IR buld.
do you have a guard around the bulb?

Hi Soulman,

I think that a ceramic bulb would be fine with your stat without the heatmat..maybe 100W as the stat would stop overheating. The mat is fine in a faun or rub but not a viv :)
