Hi folks
I'm still loving our beautiful royal python who ended up being called Sky.

She seems to be doing everything she should be, eating ok, shedding and pooing.

I was just wondering if there's a maximum time i should have her out of the viv. I've brought her home for the school holiday and at the moment she is happy sitting in the sleeve of my hoodie. she always seems to prefer the cooler end of her viv so im sure she is warm enough with my body heat.

We handle our Royals most nights (except a few days after feeding). Sometimes its only a 10 or 15 minute play, but most of the time theyre out for a few hours.

If theyre happy exploring i leave them out, if they start to become less active ill put them back.

They let you know when they've had enough, they get restless, jerky and looking to hide, sometimes them retreating into a sleeve is enough for them to calm down and be happy to be out and stealing your body heat.

I have snakes who go to sleep for a couple of hours in my sleeve, round my neck, in my armpit lol.

Long as the room or the me is keeping them warm enough and they seem content, I reckon they're fine.

15 mins isn't a strict guideline, it's just what I've seen a fair few people say on here. If she's content just sitting in your sleeve and not trying to get away from you it sounds like she's happy enough :). I'm sure someway or another she would let you know if she wasn't.

I think alot of people handle for about 15 mins per day. They can get stressed by being handled too long and/or too often. But saying that, every snakes different. Last week mine was chilling on the bed with me while I watched the footy. Which totalled to about 45 mins.
