is it possible for a royal to shed twice in a month? mine shed in his rub and now I've moved him into his viv he has shed again without me noticing him going blue etc... i just lifted up his hide and he has shed again!. is this showing he is settled in his viv? or stressed? or is it just normal? thanks

Personally I think it was due to the move.

Recently I moved both my Boa and Royal into the two vivs I built. They both shed within a few days of each other, the Royal had only shed 6 weeks earlier.

There's a lot of factors as to when and why a snake will shed its skin. Growth rate been the biggest when they are small but also if they injure their skin or even bruise themselves (so I've read). Also if they have a bad shed it can cause them to immediately go back blue to have another go.

But seriously, what's normal in keeping snakes? They always do things to catch you out, keep you guessing and have you worrying. If you ever get to the stage when they are doing exactly what your expect then that's not normal.

hes a late 2011 and about 24inches long feeding on small rats every 10 days

How old is he? What kind of size?
younger royals shed more often so if he's a little one he could shed twice in a month.
