I think monty has scale damage and wondering how do I fix it and what am I doing wrong

sometimes derek have a lot left like that an other times theres only 1 0r 2

my big lad derek sometimes has a few scales that dont come off with the shed an it looks simiar to you pic

Erm the answer is nothing and not a lot. Just check he isn't squishing his head into somewhere his body doesn't fit (holes in logs etc) and then having to pull his head out again. Any damage will be shed off and it should be back to fixed again. Dont worry though scales are there to take the damage so the soft bits underneath remain uninjured.
