When royals yawn how watery should their mouths be? The past couple of times I've caught Kane yawning when not eating there has been a bit of saliva, not loads but it's noticeable also he's going round his viv now and he's rubbing his face on his tree and other stuff. He's not in blue or due to shed, he shed a couple of weeks ago.

Do I have anything to worry about?

Why not? Also you'll get a better view of his mouth during feeding and the big yawn at the end. Hope all is well!

From what i can see when he yawns its just clear but ill try looking later, he's due a feed today though so do you reckon i should still try feeding him?

If the saliva looks creamy or 'cheesy' then a vet visit is needed as it could be mouth rot - but from what you say, it certainly doesn't sound like that. I'd keep an eye on him, but hopefully it will just be one of those things the crafty little gits get up to in order to worry the bejasus out of us.

What should i be looking for? When he yawns its just like a string of saliva its not dripping from his mouth or anything.

I just worry cause if he gets ill then there's always the chance that the other 3 do.

Their mouths are not quite as wet as our mouths unless they are eating or recently eaten as it takes vast amounts of saliva to lubricate the food on the way down. I wouldn't be overly concerned though with the wet mouth, but with rubbing and yawning so much you have noticed saliva as well it might be worth being extra vigilant for a little bit. Even do a mouth inspection, its a pain in the butt to do and you may need about 5 hands to do it but gently opening the mouth and having a look may put your mind at rest.

No nothing, just checked his tree, rock and the back of his viv wall all the places he was rubbing. And he never has mucus coming from his nose.

When he rubs his face on various things does he leave any mucus ?
