hi guys am just wanting a bit ov advice as i got young royal 3 week ago it has fed and is ready to shed and im wondering how long i should leave it after the shedding to change things in the viv ie lighting i know they dont need uva so that stuff is coming out and a low light bulb is going on back wall on the right a third along n a third along the left a dim green light to make the planted area look nice now n again ? it can all be done in a few hours including the other tanks moving n the lid taken off

Hi - imo it doesn't matter if you make changes as soon as the snake's shed - it will be fine. As long as he's well settled and has had 3 consecutive feeds with you, I think you'd be okay.

If I'm doing anything like this, or just having a big clean, I put the snake in a rub and put a towel over the rub and make sure the snake's warm enough. A heatmat or a place next to a radiator could be a good idea if the job's going to take a few hours. Then the snake is tucked up in privacy while I work on the viv.
