excitement got the better of me and i tried to hold duke, my new royal after him being at home for just a day.. got struck at :P

just the head, not sure his mouth even opened at all really. sure he's a sweet little guy really, i'll just leave him until after 2-3 feeds, he's been out every night though exploring! |

He was bluffing, notice how he struck when you were moving away and not when you were at a point where you was touching him and a greater threat to him. Did he actually make contact with teeth or just butt his head off you? |

haha sorry about pointing it out, my gf says im terrible as when we go anywhere i always find fault with timber. leave for a week then try a feed |

haha i know, i have a broken thumb so i got really annoyed and gave up, also he was in a rub so was just trying to do it ASAP, and i wont touch him until he's fed a few times.. how long should i leave it before i feed? |

Lol - he's new - could have just picked him up, bless.
But you're wise - better to let him settle - he'll tame down in no time.
Let him have 3 consecutive feeds, then try picking him up; little git will be happy and bloated and settled in and won't want to nip ... |
