i know for other snakes prey items should be 1.5x the largest part of the snake, and should leave a visible lump. moved mine up from large mice to small rat weaners and i cant see a bump, should i move up again?

With a Royal it doesn't work that way. Its no bigger than their girth, if you fed 1.5 times their fattest bit you'd be feeding them Chihuahua's. I go for between 10 and 15% of their body weight, tends to work out about the right size too.
