[Iblack][/black]I am thinking of buying one of the new terrarium type enclosures for my 2ft python. This type of enclosure is designed to have a heat mat/strip slipped behind a glass panel at the back. Worrying about the glass panel cracking, I contacted the suppliers who have assured me the glass is toughened and will provide adequate heat for my snake, without needing to use a ceramic or other heat form. Being fairly new to this type of equipment, can anyone please let me know if they think this will be an ok form of heat source, and what should I use....a heat mat/thermo mat/snake strip or what????

you really wouldn't be gaining anything using it for an adult royal, over a £10 rub :) the vivs are cheaper to :)

Once the snake gets alot bigger, and the viv has two hides, large water bowl etc etc,it really cuts down on his space even more. You can't even really stack them.

Great for a smaller snake as a good looking permanent home.it's not really any upgrade from a larger rub for a royal.

I'm not 100% sure which type of terrarium you're referring to so it would. E difficult to say which would be the best method of heating.

Which ever heat source you use must have a thermostat to regulate the temps to suit your animal. Assuming it will be a royal, temps should be around 90c. Which is the same as a hot day outside, the glass would be fine
