OH SOOOOOO JEALOUS and looking forward to seeing pictures.

You are right about them been delicate and if they bite and hold you then you just have to wait for them to let go as you cant put any force on them at all. I saw this on a youtube video and the blood was dripping everywhere but the guy was cool as you like and just held there until it let go, a great example of a true snake keepers knowledge over natural reactions.

I am just stating my GTP journey myself, I have to have one, I do love the ETB but dont think I have the requirements to ever keep one they get quite big and need a lot of room vertically and horizontally lol.

Thanks all for the tips and comments. I'm due to collect next Monday and I'm stupidly excited

I'd be happy to take a bite off this little one while he's still this size, I simply cannot beleive how small they are, I certainly wont be grabing it behind the head. I'd be frightened to pull it off!!!

Handling neonates is really tricky, so I'm told. It's very easy to cause servere and long term damage to the spine. Thats why they can't be sexed until they reach a year or so

cant wait

They are beautiful snakes just their snappy rep puts me off.
You could call him the green phlebotomist.

Very nice snakes very jealous, when do you pick it up
BlueDragon Posted - 15/08/2012 : 08:13:24
Aww, he/she is gorgious : 3

I saw one when I went to Blaydon Exotics, doing that wrapped-over-a-tree-branch thing they do : ) That one was tiny as well.

Congrats.

Jealous!! They are lush. You need to watch that bite though, its savage! A tip for picking them up is to get your arms through both sides of the viv, they will become fixated on one of your hands and try to strike at it, then you can use the other to grab them behind the neck. Obviously you only want to handle this when you need to move it, they dont tame at all, and are really flighty. I saw my mate get bitten and there was a lot of blood.

Hehe, cheers guys

It's the one species, other than an emerald tree boa that I've always wanted. I've been doing the research and contacting breeders since jan/feb

You can't be jealous Kelf, you've got a boat load of cool shizz
