Posted - 15/08/2012 : 15:21:27 Hi guys been thinking of getting a dwarf burm or rectic, full size would not be possible for me with the shear size.
just wondering if anyone has any experience with either?
and also anyone know roughly what prices they go for? (For normal) |

Posted - 15/08/2012 : 21:38:52 I have two burns one male one female and have to say they are the most docile snakes I have ever come across, and in captivity from what I have seen and read they don't always get as big as people say, still big though. |

Posted - 15/08/2012 : 17:54:14 Yeah, but if you havent got the space for it.... I much prefer the markings on a retic to a boa. It would definitely be a tough choice. Im still currently eyeing up a madagascan ground boa but think a super dwarf retic is the only thing that would sway me. |

Posted - 15/08/2012 : 17:51:16 Nah I think it's pointless to get a giant snake as a dwarf, if you want a 6-8ft snake get a boa ^^ I'd want a mahoosive tiger if I'd get one :D |

Posted - 15/08/2012 : 17:42:22 Yeah, very nice. wouldnt have the space for a mainland one though. I think the dwarfs are said to reach 12-15ft with the super dwarfs at 6-8ft. Id be happy with a super dwarf myself. Think the only thing to watch is the feeding response. They will literally dive out of their viv if they smell food. |

Posted - 15/08/2012 : 17:14:47 I really fancied a dwarf retic as well. There is a lot of speculation about them, some people dont believe they even exist" Their size depends on their locality, but you have to make sure the breeder has proof of this. Best way to size them up is by seeing the parents. You can get super dwarves as well. Cheapest ive seen a dwarf is £200, and cheapest super dwarf is £300, but both were morphs. My personal fav retic is the wild type. Its so much nicer than all the morphs. That said though, the tigers are supposed to be a lot tamer, so that would sway me. check out: http://www.thereptileroom.co.uk/livestock/reticulatedpythons.php

Posted - 15/08/2012 : 15:51:07 I was interested with Dwarf Burm's back when, but the size difference doesn't really have much of a difference on vivarium, the viv' will still be very big. The dwarf burm's also seem to be very aggressive snakes, and that size you don't want it xD
Dwarf retics I've heard can be very nice though I believe the corn snake mod/admin/person whose name I cannot remember has one :) |
