Thanks Badwool, yes I am happy, I knew the possible sizes before I went ahead. Sixteen feet for an albino male isn't unusual, tho just as anything else alive eventual size is Impossible to accurately predict.
I went into this with my eyes open and after research so all is fine :)
Had Saru out for his daily cuddle..wrapped my feet lmao |

Yeah gonna build my own twin 8 footers - but I do like the vivexotics also, nice quality :D
I know it may seem that people are on at you regarding this, and I also know that you are an adult and can do what the hell you like :) but I honestly think that to expect a mainland to stay that small is really only going to end one way - if you are happy with full mainland size then it matters not :D however what i will say is your breeder is basically chatting ****......IMHO.
Who do we all think of when we talk about retics? prehistoric pets.
If you go to reptile room and say "I want a retic that will NOT attain a size of over 12/13 foot" there is no way on gods green earth they would advise a mainland, not a chance - the reason for this? because its extremely rare.
As I say if your happy with sizes above that then this is all a mute point. you do have a stunning snake and it is irrelivant if thats the case.....

I'm happy Badwool, its not a dilemma if they grow larger, just means an extra viv expansion or two lol.
We are going for the Vivotec Xtend modules..they seem to be the answer for us.

Why didnt you just go for a dwarf if you had that size in mind?

yeah i'm feeding mine well, but not power feeding..I expect around 13'- 15' for Saru. Same as my Royals, Slinky moved to rats at a year old. |

Although diet DOES play a big part in the growth and final size, most of it will be down to genetics - hence the price tag of dwarf/super dwarves.
I think buying mainland and expecting 12 feet is probably not advised :/
I'd be lucky if this girl only attains 12

or you could feed it what it actually needs not what to what size you want it to be. This i consider to be cruel not feeding a snake its requirements but folks wanting to kee them manageable and small. these are big snakes you dont want a big snake dont get one |

Well a dwarf can reach 14' and a mainland can be held at 12'..all down to how you feed. I have Saru on a small weaner rat once a week. Apparently the only time to crank up the feeds is for a female who is close to laying.
So a dwarf could be kept quite small :) |

Well she was fascinated by the adults they have in the breeding room the last time i went i nearly had to drag her out before Phil locked her in lol but she would never let me get a mainland maybe a dwarf at a push |
